Organic Arches

You've got to be brave to order Grey balloons... but they look great. We only had 1 hour access to build these 3 organic style arches in The Wembley Hilton (between 5pm to 6pm). We incorporated some chrome, marble and feathers to match the masquerades theme.

The 3 arches are constructed with 15 carbon poles, 5 poles per arch. The central section of each arch are mainly smaller 5" balloons with under inflated 11" chrome and marble. I built the 9 central poles (3 per arch) the day before the event to give us a head start. These were easy to fit in the van because they are thin sections.

With an hour window to complete these 3 organic arches I roped in Alex Dixon to help me. I joined the 3 pre made central sections using 50lb Dacron line and added blank poles onto each end. We did this with all 3 and once they were up I inflated 11", 16" and 36" whilst Alex attached them to the poles and covered the base plates. Once the arches were completely covered with balloons it was just a 5 minute job to slot the feathers in.

Once completed with time to spare I've got to collect my Aeropole frames after the event is over. The hotel had a function in the morning so I returned at 1am to dismantle and burst all the balloons. Fortunately there's a cinema in the retail complex.
